Project Design Engineer - Solar and Wind

Bristol£20K - £35K per annum

A Solar and Wind Energy Project Design Engineer is required in Bristol on a full time permanent basis. Some travel in the UK and possibly overseas will be required.

The role is working for a company involved in the development and installation of both wind turbines and solar PV. The ideal candidate will be a graduate with 1-2 years postgraduate experience.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you key tasks will be:
·Specification of equipment and materials required for wind turbine and solar PV sales orders
·Preparation of bills of material for wind turbine and solar PV installation projects
·Liaison with suppliers on product developments and availability
·Identify any site-specific design requirements and schedule this work internally or externally
·Prepare site development pack for construction team
·Project tracking, costing, and reporting
·Wind turbine feasibility studies, GIS mapping, design, planning & grid constraints, energy prediction,
·PV site evaluation, energy prediction, site survey, design, layout and equipment selection

To apply you should have:
·Relevant engineering degree or technical or renewable energy qualification
·Knowledge of renewable energy generation and grid connection
·Design of installations for wind turbines, roof and ground-mount PV or similar equipment
·Mechanical / structural engineering
·Electrical systems and grid connection process
·Understand and interpret civil, mechanical and electrical drawings
·Design tools: Resoft Windfarm or similar, PVSol or PVsyst, AutoCAD, Sketchup. ARCGIS, Google Earth
