Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to work within our clients Building Services Consultancy based in South London. Our client's practice are Building Services Consultants, Low Carbon Designers and Energy Advisers who offer a range of services on new build projects and building refurbishments projects within existing buildings.

Sustainable design is integral to all work carried out by our clients team and the company places a high importance on these issues. Also, as part of their own office and business operation, they aim to protect the environment by ensuring the sustainable use and disposal of scarce resources.

Role Summary:

Working within the building services design team this Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will provide support to Principal Engineers in developing and project management. Taking briefs from the Team Leader/Principle Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of projects. They have a range of projects currently, which include hospitals, health centres, laboratories, schools and offices. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to really progress their career via client exposure and technical projects.

About You:

Successful candidates will have or be experienced in the following:
-A degree in mechanical or building services engineering or similar relevant qualification and be working towards chartered status.
-Good experience working within a consultancy on design projects.
-Good technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
-Excellent communication skills and a team-based work approach.
-You should additionally have fluent knowledge in the use of AutoCAD and IES.
-Excellent communication skills are a necessity as this role will require building and maintaining client relationships
-Low carbon energy accreditation would also be a benefit.
