Mechanical Engineer

Norwich£45K - £55K per annum


This exciting position will report directly into the O&M manager for the project and will involve working with key stakeholders including the turbine manufacturer, marine consultant and t&d provider for example. As a key developer of green energy solutions it is vital that the prospective employee has a strong vision and passion for this area and will evolve with the project through to its operational maintenance phase.

The main purpose of role is to provide support through the commissioning process of the
construction phase and thereafter to plan and coordinate maintenance of the wind farm whilst operational.

The task will cover some the following key areas:

-During the construction phase, participate in commissioning ensuring that operational requirements are met
- During the construction phase, ensure continuity between the Commissioning team and the Operational Team
- Take responsibility for mechanical equipment, ensuring the integrity of the equipment.
- Prepare, issue and update relevant documentation within the wind farm quality system
- Trouble shoot small and large issues as appropriate
- Plan and follow up maintenance and operational activities
- Lead in minor modifications to all wind farm mechanical infrastructure
- Be fully familiar with the emergency response plan and procedures and be able to take effective first steps in the event of an incident

You should have a strong grasp of Health & Safety policy / regulations and be able to provide weekly reports on progress and any proposed improvements etc

Essential: Minimum 5-10 years of experience from operation and maintenance, preferably from the power of process industry

Desirable:

Experience from operation of transmission
Experience of wind farm industry offshore or onshore
Experience with preservation of pressurised or hydraulic systems
Experience with rotating machinery and/or vibration analysis and/or corrosion monitoring
Experience in strong Health and Safety culture
Experience in an international organisation

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- You should be located within commuting distance from the clients offices
- Must be prepared to undertake offshore visits (this also means taking an offshore medical, BOSIET, work at height, first aid and confined space training)
- Must be prepared to support with an Emergency Response situation
- Must be prepared to be “on call” for emergency situations

SALARY LEVEL

In addition to the salary the benefits package including pension, private medical insurance, life insurance and 26 days holiday per annum plus statutory days
