The role will be a key part of the growing Renewable Energy Team, involving:

-The development of practices for use of aeroelastic codes for wind and tidal turbines.
-The development of procedures for the calculation of complete load envelopes for onshore and offshore wind turbines, including wind and wave loading, using IEC 61400-1:2005 type load extrapolation techniques.
-Performance of parallel calculations and document reviews.
-Creation of complete load data sets for clients.

-And in the moving forwards, the development and leadership of a load engineering team.

About you:

-Wind resource: Turbulence (TI / Spectra / three-dimensional nature of wind turbulence) and long term wind speed variation (Annual mean wind speed distribution / probability distribution used for extreme wind speed)
-International standards for wind.
-The load cases for an offshore wind turbine
-The function of the main mechanical, structural, control and electrical components of a HAWT
-Normal elements of a pile, jacket and tripod structure for modelling
-The main features of a typical power curve for a HAWT.
