Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

London£38K - £45K per annum

Our client is a fast growing sustainability and building services consultancy based in central London whom are seeking to appoint a Senior Building Services Engineer with a passion for providing complete energy solutions.

The team works on a range of core disciplines across residential, hospitality, commercial, and public sectors including Low Carbon mechanical and electrical engineering services, integrated energy design and dynamic modelling.

The company's services are provided for projects in and outside of the UK, which bring a variety of challenges on very interesting, and high profile projects.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

·Ability to run small/medium sized projects and have the skills and experience to undertake a client facing role.
·Capable, through experience, of managing a number of projects at a time, breaking down the workload for the in-house engineers and ensuring the delivery of high quality work on time.
·Possess good commercial awareness on project fees and the cost to deliver design services ensuring work is delivered within budget.
·Possess good technical knowledge of the industry and relevant building services design, industry standards and capable of incorporating those into any project.
·Prepared to be adaptable in a small, but fast growing, team and work across different disciplines from time to time whilst willing to get involved in the technical work itself.
·The candidate should be educated to degree level in Building Services Engineering or equivalent, and chartered or working towards chartered status.

Other areas of our clients business that you will be exposed to and be expected to be involved in whilst working as part of a multi skilled team, are:

·Environmental Design Modelling and Simulations.
·Energy Assessments, Part L and EPC's.
·BREEAM, LEED, EcoHomes and Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments.
·Building Performance Evaluations including Energy Audits, Post Occupancy Evaluations, Existing Buildings and Systems Surveys.


The candidate must demonstrate a keen interest in low carbon design and take an active interest in the industry. The individual must also fulfil the following criteria:

·Excellent communication skills and capable of presenting ideas clearly.

·Highly motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious

·Actively working on their professional development
